MARCHANT—JONAS.
A pretty and interesting wedding was celebrated at St. John's Church of England, Mudgee, on Saturday afternoon last by Canon W. J. Dunstan, the contracting parties being Mr. Charles Henry Marchant, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Marchant, M'Donald's Creek, and Miss Ethel May Jonas, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Jonas, Mudgee West. The bride, who was given away by Mr. Fred Jonas (brother) wore a gown of white ninon, with underdress of ivory silk and shadow lace. The train was of white crepe de chene, mounted on flesh pink ninon and adorned with true lovers' knots and pearls. She also wore the orthodox wreath and veil. Misses Bertha Jonas and Mollie Marchant made a pretty pair of bridesmaids, their costumes being of shell pink crepe de chene, with mob caps. Mr. E. Manahant carried out the duties of best man. The bridesgroom's gifts to the bride were a gold bangle and shower bouquet, aad to the bridesmaids gold brooches. The bride's present to the groom was a pair of gold sleeve links. After the ceremony the party adjemrned to Miss Conn's refreshment rooms, where a sumptuous breakfast had been prepared. Canon Dunstan presided, and the following toasts were proposed and honored : — 'Bride and Bridegroom,' proposed by Canon Dunstan, responded to by bridegroom; 'The Bridesmaids,' proposed by Mr. J. H. Shield, responded to by Mr. E. Marchant ; 'Parents of Bride and Bridegroom,' proposed by Mr. Herb Kear, responded to by Mr. Fred Jonas. At the conclusion of the breakfast the happy couple motored to the Mountains, where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride's travelling dress was of navy crepe de chene, surmounted by a pink hat. The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Marchant will be at M'Donald's Creek. We extend our heartiest congratulations to the young couple.
