(Thomas Towers) He married Elizabeth Winter, also a native of England, and by her had one child—John A., who is following in his father's footsteps.William E. Winter, dairyman, postoffice West View, was born Nov. 5, 1839, in East End, Pittsburgh (formerly Peebles township), a son of Edward and Elizabeth (Jones) Winter, natives of England. They had three children: Rachel, William E. and Anna H. The father died, and the mother afterward married Thomas Towers, a native of England, and to them were born three children: Moses (deceased), Walter T. (deceased) and John A.
