Biography
On 6 May 1788 Mary married William Hinder in Mitcheldean. William signed the register. [1] The couple baptised a number of children while they were living at Berry Hill;

- 1788 Anne (became Anne White)
- 1788 Mary (became Mary Smith)
- 1792 William
- 1795 Sarah (became Sarah Davies)
- 1797 Hannah (became Hannah Gwilliam)
- 1799 James
William died in 1828.
Mary and William had brought up their family in a house in Grove Road, Berry Hill. The house was left to Mary and sons William and James. By 1832 they had leased the house to James White, a Coal Master of Lydbrook. (Mary, William and James all signed). The boys were living in Monmouth. A mortgage of £100 was taken out on the house, possibly to build another section. Mary was not living in the family home by 1840, it was turned into a Beerhouse.
Mary Hinder lived a long life and died aged 91 in 1850. She was buried in Christchurch, and had been living in Berry Hill. [2]
