George Jones was born in about 1790 (per 1851 census & burial) or 1792-6 (per 1841 census) in Wales.

George married Mary Price on 1 Mar 1824 at Rainford Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. George was a widowed toolmaker, Mary hadn't been married before; both were of the local parish. The witnesses were Samuel Price and Robert Lawton.

Their daughter Elizabeth was christened on 3 Apr 1825 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as blacksmith, and the family's address as Prescot.

Their daughter Ellen was christened on 26 Aug 1827 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as whitesmith, and the family's address as Prescot.

Their daughter Sarah was christened on 25 Dec 1828 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as smith, and the family's address as Prescot.

Their daughter Hannah was christened on 21 Mar 1832 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as white smith, and the family's address as Prescot.

George died in 1860, and was buried on 23 Feb 1860 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. His age was recorded as 70, and his address as Prescot.
