9th co.9th reg Conneticut militia rev. war. Buried in Old Plainfield Cemetery.^[1]

Ephraim died at Plainfield, Connecticut on 6 August 1813 (rather than 1815).^[2] The probate of Ephraim's estate was in 1813.

Probate

Ephraim Jones did not leave a will and his estate was administered by Simeon Jones, appointed 9 September 1813. Inventory of the estate was made in October 1813 with personal estate value of $717.87. Real estate was one-third part of the farm on which Ephraim resided containing about 40 acres with one-third of the dwelling house valued at $1516.59. The dower thirds were set to the widow Lucy during her natural life. Debts and expenses of administration were $242.20. The distribution from the estate was 28 September 1814. It was determined that all the heirs of Ephraim except Miriam Richards, Betsey Williams, and Asa Jones had received their portions during the lifetime of their father.^[3]
