From his obituary published in the Welsh American press, we can state the following:[1]
He was born on 4 January 1807.
His parents were Rees and Ann Jones of Llanefeiliog (seen on late-19th century maps as Llanfeilog farm).
He married Margaret Jones in 1833, after which they lived at Bronewene and Dyffryn Arth near Pontrhydysaeson.
He migrated to America in 1849, first settling at Waukesha and then at Blaen Dyffryn.
He died in accident on Thursday January 6th 1870 on his way into Bangor. When nearly at his destination, his horse got frightened of a train coming from behind and ran onto the rails. [Note: his gravestone says January 5th.]
