Biography

John William Jones was born on 29 Jun 1862 in Nantes, France to parents Edward Jones and Sarah Foulkes. His family had moved from Wales to France for his father to be trained as a smelting consultant. They returned to Wales after 1861 and immigrated to America in 1872 where his father worked as a smelting consultant in Missouri, Pennsylvania and Colorado. John became a mining engineer. He married Frances (Frankie) Louise Green on 4 Aug 1897 in Denver, Colorado. Children: Clifford W, Edward Lewis, Elizabeth Sarah. He died on 3 Feb 1937 in Denver, Colorado.

After John died his wife Frances married Charles Henry Obland.
