Quincy Jones was an American record producer, musician, songwriter, composer, arranger, and film and television producer.
Quincy Delight Jones was born in Chicago on March 14th, 1933. He was the son of Quincy Jones and Sara Wells.[1] He lived in Chicago when he was young[2] then moved to Seattle around the age of ten.[3][4]
Quincy became a prolific musician, composer, and music producer. He worked with many of the top artists in the world, including producing Michael Jackson's album Thriller which is the best-selling album of all time. Some of his top honors and awards include:[4][5]
Quincy was married three times, including a marriage in 1974 to actress Peggy Lipton.[4][6] He had seven children, including actress Rashida Jones.[4]
Quincy died at his home in Los Angeles, California on November 3rd, 2024.[4]
