Biography

Nathan was born in 1886. Nathan Jones ... He passed away in 1957. Nathan Jones, 69, a former resident of Union Township, Wells County, died Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne. His home was at 412 S Harrison St. in that city.

He was a retired Allen County Highway employee. He was born in Wells County and had resided in Fort Wayne the past 20 years.

Surviving are six sons, William J., Decatur, John J. Wren, Oh and Robert P., Russell, Ronald and Lewis, Fort Wayne; eight daughters, Mrs. Nina Osborn, Mrs. Irene Hockenberry and the Misses Barbara and Lois Jones, Fort Wayne, Mrs. Beverly Koile, Churubusco, Mrs. Florence Hirchey, Hartford City, Mrs. Margaret Jackson, Montpelier, and Mrs Christina Vicario, Providence, R.I; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Howdyshell, Bluffton, and Mrs. Rachel Welker, Anderson, 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

The body is at the Klaehn funeral Home, Fort Wayne, where friends may call. Services will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery. Nathan put his wife in a home in 1936 and the same year had a child with his mistress. He had started another family with an Elma.
