At the time of her husband's death Betty was living in Steynsburg, Eastern Cape, South Africa. The National Archives of South Africa has a record in their Natal Archives 1973 for her deceased estate but says " PREDECEASED SPOUSE WHITFIELD, REGINALD WALTER. NO TRACE. DECEASED ESTATE" [1]
