Biography

James Jones is a part of US Black heritage.

James was born in 1880. He passed away in 1960 at age 80. He was a senior deacon of Zion Baptist Church in Hagerstown, president of the brotherhood club, and a member of the missionary circle.

Birth

James was born 28 February 1880 in Amherst County, Virginia [1] [2] to Thomas Jones (1859-) and Sallie J. Scrugg. He was the eldest child.

Death

James died at age 80 on 30 December 1960 in Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland where he had lived for many years. He was buried in Tolsons Chapel Cemetery, Sharpsburg, Washington County, Maryland. [3]

Marriage

James Jones was married to Mamie B. Rucker about 1905. She was the mother of his two children, Harvey Talmedge Jones (1906-1993) and Sallie Loven (Jones) Summers (19008-2005). She died in 1912 leaving two young children.

James next married Susie N. Rose (1881-1967), who survived him. [3]
