I have been trying to find information on this William. I have found a will for a William Jones in Halifax, NC that might be him. The will was written 23 Jan 1762 and probated in March court 1762. It states that he leaves his estate, both real and personal to his well beloved brother Francis Jones. If he never returns [went to Georgia?], he gives his estate to John Young who he also makes his executor. If this is the correct William, then it looks like he didn't have any children.
I am listed under the DNA Connections for Jones-59088, William Jones [1701-1771]. When I click on his father, Henry Jones [Jones-44999, I am not listed under DNA Connections for him. Is this a glitch in the system or does this mean I am not related to him? I have had this happen on several of my lines so I thought I would ask.
I think it only goes so far back. You are just too many generations removed from some people to register. That’s why it’s important to get older people tested.

I don’t match, but Doug is a generation before me and he and I match.

Maybe so although I am pretty old. 😆 I’m finding a lot of them that aren’t registering me. I asked the question on the forum. No answers yet but right after I did I disappeared from at least two of the Jones profiles that I had been on this morning. 🙄
I just ran a gedmatch with Douglass Gilbert. I did not have a match above 7 cm. Clifford, I did have a good match with you, 85.1 cm since I descend also from William, Sr.. Wouldn't a match of only 8.2 cm be considered incidental?
