Biography

Mary was born in 1919, the daughter of David Jones (1887–1973) and Adelaide Yeates (1888–1981).

She married Kenneth Bruce Dodds (1918–1978). They had the following children:

Kenneth Bruce "Ken" Dodds Jr. (1940–2010).

Infant son Dodds (1943–1943), stillborn.

Sharon M. Dodds (1946–2012), who married Wayne P. Martin (1945-).

David Tweed Dodds (1948–2010).

She passed away in 2012.

Obituary for Mary Jones Dodds

WATERTOWN – Mary G. (Jones) Dodds, 92, of French Street, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Paradigm of Greater Waterbury. She was the widow of Kenneth Dodds.

Mrs. Dodds was born in Oakdale, PA., April 1, 1919, daughter of the late David and Adelaide (Yeates) Jones. She was a registered nurse, having worked in the operating room at Waterbury Hospital for many years until her retirement and was a proud member of First Congregational Church.

She leaves her daughter, Sharon Dodds Martin of MA; her sister, Dot Jones Petronsky; two daughters-in-law, Janet Dodds and Cathy Dodds; six grandchildren, Tracey Hoover and her husband Dane, Debi Dodds, Wayne Martin and his wife, Kristen, Matthew Martin and his wife, Meghan, Ricky Sambuco and his wife, April, and Andrew Sambuco; and six great grandchildren, Dane, Erick, Faith and Grace Hoover, and Aurora Martin and Devlin Martin. She was predeceased by her sons, Kenneth Dodds Jr. and David Dodds; her brother, Tom Jones; and four sisters, Mable Jones Godwin, Mickey Jones Boris, Adelaide Jones Henry, and Glad Jones Pialet.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at First Congregational Church, 40 DeForest Street, Watertown, CT. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery is private and at the convenience of the family. Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown, CT, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
