Born on 16 April 1854 at Garthee, Llandrindod to Mary Jones (nee Parry) and John Jones, shoemaker, resident of Llandrindod, Powys, Wales, United Kingdom. See image of scan of birth registration. His death certificate stated he was born in South Wales. Note: research linking this Ezra to this birth certificate was completed by another family member. Need second source to confirm accuracy.
Note an email stated:
"John Ezra Jones born 1854 at Forest Creek, Victoria, Australia now Castlemaine. His father was a John Jones and mother Lydia - both from Wales. Lydia died when he was about 4 in Maldon, Victoria, Australia. Later on he went to Industrial school.
This may mean that the birth certificate is for the wrong Ezra Jones.
