Biography

Elizabeth Jones known as Nance was born in Llangefni, Anglsey, Wales in 1895. She had a sister Dinah. She became the district nurse in Shere at some time and visited Mary Ann Longhurst who had a long term illness. Mary Ann died in 1933 and in 1935 Elizabeth married Stephen Longhurst and became step mother to Bob aged 29 and Stan aged 26 in the house in the Square in Shere. In 1944 Bob was in the RAF and killed in France. Nance became friends with the mother of Kevin Waight-96 who lived in Australia. They exchanged Christmas Cakes for many years. Stephen died in 1953 when Nance was 58. Around 1955 Nance visited Kevin’s mother in Australia. After some time Dinah moved to Shere and after a few years the sisters moved back to Llangefni.
