Biography

Benjamin Jones was born 5 Jan 1690, in Barnstable, Plymouth Colony, the son of Matthew Jones and Matthew's first wife, whose name is not known. He had two children by her, Benjamin and Ralph. Matthew's second wife was Mercy Goodspeed. Benjamin married Hannah Gifford 31 Aug 1721 at Barnstable.^[2]

He was living in 1749, when he was mentioned in his father's will, but his death was not recorded and there are no probate records in Barnstable county for Benjamin Jones.^[2]

Research Note

Benjamin is not a name from the Jones family, so it was probably the name of the (unknown) mother's father or brother.
