William Smith and Elizabeth Jones were married after banns at St Mary's, Witney, Oxfordshire on 29th October 1827.[1] They were both living in the hamlet of Curbridge at the time. Neither could write so they both made their mark on the register with a cross. The witnesses to the marriage were Thomas Smith and Mary Smith.
