Ananias Jonsen Leira was baptized on 31 Aug 1796 in Hjørundfjord, Møre og Romsdal, Norway, the son of Jon Jonsen.[1]
In 1801 Ananias Jonsen (age 5) lived with his parents and older brothers Jens and Lars at Leere in Hjørundfjord.[2]
Ananias married widow Johanne Olsdatter Saure on 24 Jun 1821 in Hjørundfjord.[3] Their children were:
- Ole Ananiasen (1822 - 1898)
- John Ananiassen (1826 - 1910)
In the 1865 census, Ananias Jonsen (age 70) was the stepfather of Ole Olsen at Søvre fremre in Hjørundfjord.[4] He lived with his wife Johanne Olsdatter.
He died on 14 Oct 1875 in Hjørundfjord aged 79.[5]
