There appears to be a Herring/Herron mix up.

I have confirmed through obituaries in the Montgomery Advertiser and The Times for Aaron Herron (my great grandfather) dated June 22, 1926 that the children listed in the 1900 and 1910 census are Herron’s and NOT Herrings.

According to Alabama, Deaths and Burials, 1881-1974 there was a Thomas Aaron Herring born abt 1866 who was married to a Nancy Herring. He died March 21, 1929 in Geneva County. His parents appear to be Elijah and Eliza Herring from the 1880 Census.

Due to the error in the spelling of the last name in the 1900 and 1910 census it appears that Aaron HERRON and children have been mixed together with Thomas Aaron HERRING's family in several family trees. Also, on the marriage between Annie Jordan it lists Herring. It should also be Herron as Annie Jordan is listed as the mother of the Herron Children on each of their entries in the Alabama, Deaths and Burials Index 1881-1974.
