Biography

Mary (Jordan) Wilder was a Virginia colonist.

Mary Jordan was born 10 Apr 1756 probably in Virginia, because her father did not receive land grants in North Carolina until 1779 and 1785.^[1] She was the first daughter of James Jordan and Elizabeth Liles.^[2] She married William Wilder, Jr. in 1770 in Johnston Co., because her first child Letitia was born in 1771. They had six children, but two died as infants.^[3] They are listed on the 1790 Census in Johnston County with three children at home;^[4] Letitia is already married. Mary passes away before 2 Nov 1795, because that is when her husband marries Mary Whitington.^[5] It is not known where she is buried.
