Biography
Charles Jordan was born in 1781, son of Dr. Samuel Jordan (1752 - 1800) and Abigail (Hatch) Jordan (~1755 - ~1809).
Charles (~24) married Mercy Dyer (17) , daughter of Nathaniel Dyer and Hannah Unknown, on 29 Dec 1805 in Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Me. Their children were:
- Charles Jordan (1806 - >1878)
- William H Jordan (1812 - 1861)
- Gardner Jordan (1818 - 1883)
- Elizabeth Frances Jordan (1826 - ~1870).
Charles died on 17 Nov 1856 aged ~75. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, Maine.
He was a Shipbuilder & owner for more than half a century; resided So. Portland, Cumberland, Me.
