Milford was originally known as Mills Ford. John Jordan was believed to be the son of Nathan P. Jordan estimated date of birth 1774. It is possible my John was his son, but not probable. It is know believed John and Nathan were siblings and sons of a James Jordan of Barnwell County, SC

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.

John Daniel Jordan never lived in Chesterfield County, SC. In 1850, he was not living. He died in Baker County, Ga in 1845. My Jordan line is impossible to trace Other than DNA evidence, all hopes of tracing back from John's alleged father, James Jordan is gone. Perhaps one day, DNA will uncover my roots.

Seeking descendents of Winey aka Winney Jordan, b. about 1788, died unknown. Ina Marriage Bond of Nathan Jordan, Winey married Zackeriah or Zacherias Patterson in 1830 in Barnwell County, South Carolina. The bond was made by Nathan Jordan and witnessed by Isham Jordan.
It is only an assumption of mine with no proof that my John Jordan was the son of James Jordan, the son of Charles Jordan, the son of Charles Jordan, the son of Charles Jordan, the son of John Jordan, the son of Richard Jordan of Isle of Wight and Surry County, Va, who married Elizabeth Reynolds.
James Jordan was believed to be the same James Jordan aka James Jordon, who received an English Land Grant in 1769 on land that became Barnwell County, SC. He was not the same James who married Sarah Coon,as this James was of the Arthur Jordan line.
