Jochum Jørgensen was born at Bregninge parish in 1825[1], the son of Jørgen Jochumsen and
Johanne Hansdatter. He was married at Øster Ulslev in 1860[2] to Johanne Hansdatter. He immigrated with his family in 1885 to the United States, settling in Wood County, Wisconsin. He passed away at Wood County, Wisconsin in 1916.

Excerpt From Find-A-Grave bio and newsclips[3]: [Birth- 22 Feb 1825, Lolland, Denmark], Death-20 May 1916 Wood County, Wisconsin]. Jokum Jorgensen was born on February 22, 1825, the son of Johanne and Jorgen. He married Johanne Hansdatter on February 10, 1860. He died in May 1916 in Wood, Wisconsin, at the impressive age of 91. The living children (in 1916) of Jokum Jorgensen are, Hans J. of Marshfield, Chris of New York state, Peter of Marinette, Carrie of Minneapolis, and Sophia of Fresno, Cal. His wife and oldest daughter died much earlier in San Francisco.
