Biography

Aaron was born about 1836 at Sunderland, Durham. His parents were Hyram Joseph and Hannah Davis.

In the 1841 census Aaron (age 5) was in Sunderland, Durham, England.[1]

In the 1851 census Arron (age 15) was the brother-in-law of Dinah Joseph in Sunderland, Bishopwearmouth, Durham, England.[2]

Aaron was employed as a Watch and Clock maker.

By the time Aaron came to Australia, he had changed his name to Alfred. He married Bridget McNamara in 1873 in Victoria. [3]

Alfred died in 1913 at Albury, New South Wales. [4]

Notes from external profile

Disappears after 1851; no death record in UK, so may have emigrated to Australia or South Africa. Appears likely that he later called himself Alfred, and went to Australia, dying there in 1913: records show that Alfred’s death certificate lists his parents as Hyam and Hanna, marriage certificate in Australia shows profession as watchmaker, etc.
