Beatrice was born in 1673; her parents were Abraham Josselyn and his wife Ann (Hudson) Josselyn.
At the age of 2 years, on February 10, 1675 (during King Philip's War) Indians attacked at Lancaster and killed her father. She and her mother were carried off into captivity and subsequently both were killed.
Her name is spelled Beatrix in some sources.
