Biography

Francois dit Bellerose Joubert, son of Pierre Joubert and Catherine Pitre, was baptized on 27 December 1781 at age 8 months. His baptism was recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]

He married Sophie Doucet, daughter of Pierre Doucet and Therese Brignac, on 9 February 1807 at Opelousas.[2]

Francois and Sophie had these known children:

  2. Felonise Joubert, b. 5 Nov 1809

Francois died before March 1822, when his succession was filed at the Opelousas Courthouse.[12]
