Biography

Emelite, or Emiie, Joubert, daughter of Pierre Joubert and Catherine Cartier, was born on 24 Aug. 1821 and baptized on 10 Sep. 1821 her birth and baptism were recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]

She married Francois Antoine Pitre, son of Pierre Pitre and Celeste Symphorose Vige on 4 April 1837, their marriage was recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church.[1]
