Research Notes

Note on Parents: Jean Joubert (1641-1728) and Madeleine Têtu (1641-1703) were listed as parents of Pierre, but this is not possible. Madeleine died at age 62, over 120 years before Pierre's birth. They have been removed. Smith-40964 13:36, 12 December 2015 (EST)

Note on Birth: The location for his birth as "St Hilaire de Soulanges, Chalons Sur Marne, Champagne, France" is unsourced, but left on the profile in hopes that it will serve as a clue for finding a birth record. A birth in "Lyon, France" is sourced from the baptism records of grandchildren, but note that while he may have been from there, that doesn't mean he was born there.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Pierre by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Pierre:

This Pierre cannot be the son of Madeleine Tetu-he was born after she died and Jean was in New France and would have been well into his eighties at the time of Pierre's birth in France to have survived such a voyage.

Joubert-60 and Joubert-2 appear to represent the same person because: I think these may be the same people!

Cheers
