Nancy (Joy) Tucker was a Latter Day Saint pioneer.

Biography

Nancy was born in 1804. Nancy Joy passed away in 1885.

• James Tucker was born in Connecticut in 1770. Nancy Joy was born in Connecticut in 1801. They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Massachusetts, about 1840. The following year they moved to Nauvoo; and the next year, early in the spring, they moved to Lee County, Iowa. • Soon after they moved to Lee County, James Tucker died, leaving his wife and one daughter and three sons. Their names were Sophia, Amasa, George, and Charles. In 1852 Nancy Joy Tucker with her four little children crossed the plains to the Salt Lake Valley. They traveled in the James Snow Company. • They settled in Pleasant Grove, Utah County, and lived there until 1861. They then moved to Mount Pleasant, and from there to North Bend (now Fairview), Sanpete, County, Utah. Nancy Joy lived there until she died in October 1885. Granddaughter, Mary Rebecca Tucker Rhees, lived with her and assisted her during the last years of her life. She was ill for many years before she died.
