While on his wedding tour Mr. Joy contracted Roman fever, the disease developing about a month ago. For the past two weeks he had be delirious. A year ago Mr. Joy was married to Miss Todd, of Louisville. The ceremony took place at the home of the bride, and the couple immediately started for Europe on a wedding tour. They returned to Detroit last spring, and leased a home on Jefferson avenue, where they intended to make their home. Four weeks ago the fever made its appearance, and was followed by an abcess [sic] in the throat.
Fred Joy was a tall, athletically-formed young man about 30 years of age. He was a member of the Detroit Athletic club, and took a decided interest in field sports.
