Alexander was born in 1755. He was the son of
Thomas Joyce. He died in 1819.
Alexander was living on his fathers' tract of land on Crooked Creek in Surry County (now Stokes County), N.C. in 1780 when his father Thomas made his Will in Virginia.
He was a resident of Surry County, North Carolina during the American Revolution.
