Biography
Helen was born 13th November 1892 to Frank Joyce and Mary Wilson, at Waimate in Canterbury, New Zealand.[1]
Helen married Albert Edward Averis at Linwood, Christchurch in Nov 1917.[2] They settled in Waimate and had one daughter, Joyce Alberta Averis, in 1918. In 1925 they also adopted June Lucy Shefford, the youngest daughter of Helen's sister Lucy Joyce, after Lucy died during childbirth.
Helen passed away at 87 on the 29th July 1979.[3] She is buried at Waimate Cemetery.[4]
