Stephen was baptised on 12th January 1800 at St Peter and St Paul, Hanborough.[1] He was the son of Stephen Judd and Sarah Brown.
Marriage
Stephen Judge and Mary Ann Neville were married after banns at St Thomas', Oxford, Oxfordshire on 24th September 1821.[2] They were both of the parish. Neither could write so they both made their mark on the register with a cross. The witnesses to the marriage were William Bennett, James Philips and James Maltby. The register also notes that Stephen was baptised at Ensham and that Mary was baptised at Banbury and that they were both aged 21.

Research Notes
There are inconsistencies in the records for Stephen: baptised in Hanborough as Judd but married as Judge. The marriage record says he was baptised not in Hanborough but Ensham. However there is no baptism record for a Stephen Judd or Judge in Eynsham and as he could not himself write it is likely that the spelling of his surname in the marriage register was a mistake.
