Biography

Gerald was born in 1922. He passed away in 2007.

• Gerard Forsyth JUDD was born 7 September 1922, in Hinckley, Millard County, Utah, first child to Samuel Henry JUDD and Hazel Forsyth. Although he lived in Hinckley in his earliest years, he was raised largely in Delta. Just two years after he was born, his father died suddenly following a procedure to relieve symptoms he had as the result of having worked in the gold mines. His mother was devasted by Samuel’s untimely death. She was by then expecting their second child, who was born just seven months later. After his birth, she soon discovered that this child, named Samuel Howard JUDD, was deaf. This provided significant challenges to overcome, both for Hazel and her sons. Gerard describes the first few years of his life as harsh and difficult for his mother, with little assistance from anyone in or out of the Church.
