Frances, aka "Fanny", was born about 1806 in Wilkes County, North Carolina[1][2] to parents Delphia Shepherd and Nathaniel Jackson Judd Jr.[3]
She married Ambrose Smith prior to 1847.
24 Feb 1937, their son Nathaniel J Smith died of pneumonia, secondary to influenza.[4]
In 1850 she and Ambrose were raising nine children: Wm, Deepha, Henry, Margaret, Elizabeth, Phebe, Jane, Miram, and Nathanial. (Spellings may need to be corrected).[5]
Frances Judd "Fanny" Smith passed away on 18 Nov 1856[1] in Russell County, Kentucky[6] of unknown cause. The 10 month old child of Permelia Smith died of unknown cause 2 months earlier in the same location. [7]Noted in the same death record that many who died in the same year were dying from TB, Pneumonia, Typhoid Fever and Scarlet Fever. Antibiotics came too late for them.[8]
She was buried at Old Friendship Cemetery in Russell County, Kentucky.[9]
