Rose was born in February 1869 in East Bonniconlon, County Mayo. She was the daughter of John Judge and Mary Sweeney.^[1]

Rose departed Liverpool, England and Queenstown, Ireland in 1885 bound for Scranton and arrived in New York, New York in 1885. Age: 16^[1]
