Captain James Judson served with Major Skinner's Regiment Light Horse, Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution.

James was born in 1728, and baptized on Oct 20, 1728. He is the son of Isaac Judson and Elizabeth Hawley. [4]

On November 12, 1751, he married Mary Edwards, daughter of Thomas Edwards.[4]

October 1771, The Connecticut Assembly, established "... James Judson to be Cornet of the troop of horse in the 13th regiment in this Colony.[2]

October 1774, The Connecticut Assembly, established "... James Judson to be Lieutenant of the troop of horse in the 13th regiment in this Colony."[3]

Revolutionary War

He was a Captain in the revolutionary War, serving in the Militia Light Horse Regiment.[4] r. [5]

Marched 11 June 1776 Discharged 3 Aug 1776 (Before Battle of Long Island) "In June, 76, detachments of Connecticut Light Horse were ordered to New York, under the command of Lt.-Col. Thomas Seymour, for temporary service. About five hundred men marched. At New York a dispute arose as to whether horsemen could be called upon to do infantry guard duty, as Washington desired, and the command was dismissed and returned home. Col. Seymour wrote a full explanation to Gov. Trumbull, published in Forces Am. Archives, vol. I, Fifth Series, p. 513.""[6]

20 December 1779- December 1780, Assigned to Committee " to take care of and support" the faimilies of Soldiers "during their absence in their country's service".[1]
