The translater questioned the spelling of her last name at birth, Julanin, and since he expressed concern about the spelling, he has probably spelled it as found on the original documents. That said, the original census taker could have misspelled "Julian" or it could be a variant of the surname "Julan," which originated in Romania. It's possible that the "in" on the end of "Julanin" indicated the person was female. I'm still researching her name in German records. If the surname was misspelled by the census taker, there are many other names with similar spelling.
