Henry was born about 1825 (estimated from marriage record).[1]
On 20 January 1846 he married Lydia Ellen Adams in St Paul's Church, Liverpool[2] and they moved to Cork City, Ireland where they had two known children: Ada Florence and Lionel Alfred.[3]
Henry was a renowned solicitor judging from the obituary notice that was published in the newspapers after his sudden death on 10 October 1892.[4]
He left an estate of £4,217 8s. 4d.[5]
In his will, Henry left £500 to his youngest son Lionel, and the rest of his estate was divided equally between his three daughters. [6]He did not leave anything in his will to his eldest son Arthur, perhaps because this son had inherited the law business from him?
He was buried in St Finbarr's Cemetery, Glasheen Road, Cork on 12 October 1892 (Section I Row 15 Grave 3). The cause of death given was bronchitis.[7]
