Biography

Catharina Jung was born in Bavaria in 1820. Her parentage has not been confirmed. Many family trees on Ancestry give her an October 6 birthday, but I do not know the source of this information. There is record of a Catharina Friederika Jung being born to a Johannes and Charlotte Jung in Bavaria on Sept 30, 1820, and baptized October 2. This could possibly be her.

She married Christian Bungert, also of Bavaria about 1847. [ Some family trees put them as marrying in Wilton in 1853. I find no record of this. And, if it is true, the first two children would most likely not be hers. However, she is listed as the mother on their oldest daughter's marriage certificate... and also shares the same name, Catherine.] They had seven known children together.
