Early Settler~1847~German Prairie~McHenry Twp., McHenry County, Illinois. Johann Jung, son of Anton Jung and Gertrud Berresheim, married Anna Wagner, daughter of Mathias Wagner and Maria Steffens, on 5 August 1846 in Monreal, Mayen, Rhineland, Prussia. Johann and Anna emigrated from Prussia and arrived at the Port of New York on 20 August 1847 aboard the ship Erasmus. They settled at 'German Prairie', McHenry Township, McHenry County, Illinois. Their son Franz "Frank" Jung, was born on the ship Erasmus coming over, per census records, 'born at sea'. Ten more known children were born to Johann Jung and Anna nee Wagner
