Alfred Joseph Jurd was born on 19 Feb 1869^[1] in Wollombi, New South Wales, Australia as the fourth child of Richard Jurd and Mary Fernance. He had ten siblings, namely: Richard Augustus, Amelia, John, Roland E., Helena May, Amos Godfrey, George Ambrose, Percival Vincent, Mabel Millicent, and Cyril Vaughan. He died on 03 May 1959^[2] in Campsie, New South Wales, Australia. When he was 40, he married Elsie Ellen Barnett,daughter of Stephen Barnett and Mary Jane Laurie, on 27 Jul 1909^[3] in Croydon, New South Wales, Australia.
