Biography

This information is from Wessel's marriage information[1]

This information also comes from a tree on Luijens.net that has been assembled from ev.-luth church records in Leer.[2]

Note

In the second source, Luijens.net, the last name of Jutting was not used for either of these parents It is only the children that have the last name Jutting which comes from Wessel Janssen's mother Antje Jutting. His father is Jan Wessels so he became Wessel Janssen and the children took his mother's maiden name as last name. The ancestry record is very difficult to read not only is it old german handwritten script it is a bad copy. I'm leaving this for the moment because I don't understand the german naming system but some records for this person and his wife may not use Jutting as a last name. All of the American records are using Jutting for references even for his wife.
