Johannes was born February 15, 1719, at Skogarp as the son of Jöns Larsson and his wife Stina Larsdotter. He was christened February 18 and his godparents were Olof Andersson at Skogarp, Peder Andersson at Skogarp, Sven Larsson at Dalstorp, the wife Christina Lysell, the wife Britta Pedersdotter at Karlsbo, and the wife Märta Jonsdotter at Boarp.[1] In 1722 Jöns bought the farm Älmhestra from the county sheriff Olof Borgström.[2][3]
Johannes was first married to Lisken Mathisdotter[4] but she died in October 1750 after giving birth to the daughter Stina in the month before.[5]
May 26, 1751, Johannes married Stina Gustavsdotter from Horshaga.[7] Together they had four children.
Johannes died in March 1781 and was buried March 25.[8]
Johannes' father Jöns had, as mentioned above, bought the estate Älmhestra in 1722.[3] Jöns died in February 1747[9] but it was not until 1767 that Johannes took over as an owner of 1/7 part of the estate, and in 1769 he inherited the rest.[10]
