Eric Jöransson, a Finn, probably arrived in the area of the former New Sweden colony on one of the Dutch ships that transported settlers in 1663-1664. The ships believed to have actually arrived in the New World include the Purmerlander Kerck, Vergulde Arent, St. Jacob and Waghen. [1]
Eric was fined in the Long FInn Rebellion of 1669. He died at Finn's Point in West Jersey in 1685 and directed that his five children live with Anders Andersson Vinam, Hendrick Andersson, Jonas Scoggin (son of Johan Thorsson alias Schagen), Olle Petersson (son of Peter Ollesson) and Samuel Petersson. One son was Jöran Ericksson, alias Litien. The names of his wife and other children are not known. [2]
