Johannes was born in 1734 in Oberthal and was baptised in Höchstetten (nowadays Grosshöchstetten). He married Anna Bühlmann in 1756, they had three children. He was naturalized in Schlosswil in 1766. Johannes, or Hanss, was "Herrschaft Weibel" (bailiff) in Schlosswil, thus he used a family crest for signing. While he was bailiff, Hans took lessons during two winters to learn to play the new organ (bought in 1771) of the church in Schlosswil. For playing the organ at church he was payed 6 Kronen 10 Bz. each year. He passed away in 1814.
His Heimatort at birth was Oberthal, he was naturalized in Schlosswil, both in Canton Berne, Switzerland.

Todays spellings are: Käller = Keller, Höchstetten = Grosshöchstetten, Wyl = Schlosswil.
