Biography
Johann Köhler was born about 1839 in Alsace-Lorraine, which was then a German-speaking part of France.
His migrated with this parents to the United States before 1850. They settled at Cleveland, Ohio, where they adopted the Keeler spelling. Personal names were also anglicized: Johann Köhler became John Keeler.
He and his family were listed in the 1850 census at Cleveland. John's age was shown as 21. No later record of him has yet been found.
