Private Peter Kabrich Died of smallpox during United States Civil War.
Enlisted in Company G, Iowa 5th Infantry Regiment, on 15 July 1861.[1][2]
Peter apparently served as the company cook and suffered several bouts of illness. He was finally sent to the smallpox hospital in St Louis, Missouri, where he died of the disease on 2 April 1862.[3][4]
