Biography

Born Constance was born in 1918 ^[1], the fifth and youngest child of Augustus Kahn b1868 and his wife Regina Rosa (Schoyer) Kahn. She grew up in Hamstead and in 1939 ^[2] was living together with her parents at 26 Faithazel Gardens Hamstead.

Marriage Around the end of the war she married Owen Papineau, although it is not yet clear where or exactly when. Their first son, David Calder Papineau, was born late in 1947 in Como Italy ^[3] and their second son Richard Roderick Papineau in 1950 in London ^[4].
On 19 December 1951 the family left Dover on board "Boskoop" for Trinidad ^[5]. Their address is given as 4 Well Road Hamstead London NW3. On 19 October 1954 the family arrived back in Avonmouth from Trinidad on board "Cavina" ^[6]. Owen's address is given as Orchard Cottage Redwing Drive Twickenham (his father's address), whereas Constance and the two sons, 7 and 4, are living at Flat no. 1 Ridgemont Ridge Road, London N.W.3. The following year their daughter Sarah Jane Papineau was born in Lancashire ^[7].

In 1964 the family was living in Durban South Africa ^[8].
Owen died there in 1970 after which Constance presumably returned to England.

Died Constance Irene Papineau of 6 Suffolk House, Dartmouth Park Hill, London W11 was last seen alive on 20 November 1985 and was found dead on 22 November 1985 ^[9]. Probate was granted on 6 September 1986; effects not exceeding £40000 ^[9] .
