Biography

John was born in 1834. John Kane ... He passed away in 1886. [1]

John Kintzing Kane (1833-1886) married 1863 Mabel Bayard. [2]

Dr. Kane graduated from the Jefferson Medical College in 1855, and the same year accompanied the relief expedition sent by the U.S. Government to the Arctic in search of his brother, Elisha Kent Kane. He spent 1857 studying in French hospitals. After a few years' practice in Philadelphia he removed to Illinois but returned East in 1862 and settled in Wilmington, Delaware, where he had a large practice and was long remembered for his devotion to the ill and destitute.
